Rules from the state

• Louisiana law (La. R.S. 45:164.E) requires every intrastate household goods mover to hold a common carrier certificate from the LPSC. Source
• You have the right to a written estimate (LPSC General Order of July 12, 2013, R-32668). You may waive it, but the waiver should be in writing. Source
• LPSC staff can confirm whether a mover is certificated and whether it has outstanding fines. Call before you book. Source
• If your move crosses a state line, file complaints with FMCSA instead of the LPSC. Source
• Household goods carrier rules are in LPSC General Order R-35848 (March 16, 2021); applications use Form T-77. Source
